The Community Parks Improvement Committee is hosting the 52nd Annual Sentry Classic Holiday Basketball Tournament at Quandt Fieldhouse in Marshfield Clinic Champions Hall. The Classic has attracted many of the top high school teams throughout the state. It has the reputation of being the "Cadillac" of high school basketball tournaments in Wisconsin.
Header photo from Wayne SankeyThe Community Parks Improvement Committee (CPIC) was formed in 1970 as a support group to assist in raising funds for voluntary, non-profit projects aimed at improving the quality of life, with respect to parks and recreation, in the Stevens Point area. CPIC was looking for an annual venture as a fundraising base for its projects. With the help of Bill Ellis and John Joanis of Sentry Insurance, the Sentry Classic Basketball extravaganza was started in 1972.
The CPIC currently consists of 40 community-minded men and women representing a cross-section of people from the Stevens Point area. Community-minded individuals interested in joining CPIC should contact any of our board members. Since 1970, CPIC has raised more than $700,000 for projects which have improved the quality of life in the area.
Looking for tickets? Tickets for the tournament will be available for purchase at the door.
